For when you know exactly what you want to sell – commodity, price and grade are all established at the time of contracting

 

Generally useful when forward selling prior to harvest. You can lock in your price but have the flexibility to deliver a range of specified grades and agreed grade spreads against the contract. You can lock away your price with the added flexibility of being able to deliver a range of qualities

 

For when you know that at a certain price you will happily sell. Set the target price and get the opportunity to lock away if, or when, the market reaches your target

You know you want to sell through Emerald, but want to price the contract later. This contract generates strong prices because you have made the sales commitment, however you have the flexibility to set the contact price at a later date, taking advantage of any market volatility in the meantime
